How it works

  1. Agent ingests the referral via the EHR referral queue and extracts the reason and urgency flag.
  2. Proactively calls the patient rather than waiting for them to call in.
  3. Checks insurance acceptance via the clearinghouse before booking; flags if authorization is required.
  4. Writes the appointment directly to the EHR/PMS calendar.
  5. Confirms with the referring provider once booked, closing the referral loop.
  6. Falls back to SMS if unreachable after 2 attempts; unresolved referrals escalate to the referral coordinator after 5 days.
